Spirit Box has no account and no ads. Audio, video, photos, recognized words and sensor readings stay on your device. Apple and RevenueCat process purchases. Firebase Analytics receives anonymous usage data only if you agree to share it. Spirit Box does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
What stays on your device
- Microphone audio. Used by the Spirit Box sweep, Word Catcher, the EVP recorder and Night Watch sound detection. Recordings are stored only in the app's local storage.
- Speech recognition. Word Catcher uses Apple's speech recognition with on-device processing required. Audio and recognized words are not sent to the publisher or to any analytics service.
- Camera, photos and video. The SLS camera, AR EMF Map and Night Watch process camera frames on your device with Apple's ARKit, Vision and LiDAR. Photos and clips stay in the app or in your Photos library and leave your device only when you share them.
- Magnetic field and motion readings. Used by the EMF meter and AR EMF Map. They are not transmitted.
- Investigation sessions. Session names, caught words, event times, readings and media stay in the app's local storage.
Purchases
Spirit Box Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple processes payments; the publisher never receives card details. RevenueCat validates transactions and keeps your Pro status using an anonymous app-user identifier it generates, your purchase history and limited device information. Spirit Box does not give RevenueCat your name, email, recordings, photos, words or sensor readings.
Analytics (optional)
Analytics is off until you agree. During the first-launch walkthrough Spirit Box asks once whether to share anonymous usage data. If you choose Share, Firebase Analytics (Google) receives an app-instance identifier generated by the SDK, which tools and screens you use, session information, device and app version, and an approximate region derived from your IP address. It is used only to understand which features are used and to improve stability.
Analytics never includes recordings, recognized words, sensor readings, photos or videos. Spirit Box does not set a user ID and does not link analytics to purchases. Firebase is configured without advertising identifiers, vendor-identifier collection, advertising storage, advertising user data, ad personalization, ad-network attribution or on-device conversion measurement.
You can change your choice at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data. When it is off, Spirit Box stops collecting analytics and no further events are sent.
Permissions
- Microphone and speech recognition: requested during the first-launch walkthrough, because the sweep, Word Catcher and EVP recorder use them.
- Camera: requested when you open a tool that uses it (SLS camera, AR EMF Map or Night Watch).
- Add to Photos: requested when you save a photo or clip.
You can review or revoke these at any time in iOS Settings → Spirit Box. A feature that needs a revoked permission stops working until you allow it again.
Data retention and deletion
- On your device: deleting Spirit Box deletes its local data. Items saved to your Photos library stay there until you delete them in Photos.
- Firebase Analytics: if you chose to share, usage data is kept for a limited period set in Firebase and then deleted automatically.
- RevenueCat and Apple: purchase records are kept as long as needed to verify purchases and restore Pro access, under their own retention rules.
Your choices
- Withdraw analytics consent: turn off Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage data.
- Revoke permissions: iOS Settings → Spirit Box.
- Request deletion: email orkhanalizada@hotmail.com. Because there are no accounts, we may ask for your device model and the approximate dates you used the app to find the data.
Third-party providers
Apple, RevenueCat and Google (Firebase) process only the limited data described above. Each is required to protect that data at least as well as this policy describes.
Children
Spirit Box is rated 9+ for mild horror themes and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes and contact

Spirit Box does not claim to detect or communicate with spirits. It is a set of real measuring and recording tools for paranormal investigation hobbyists and Halloween fun.
